About Me

Welcome!

I am Vikas Kumar, a Scientific Researcher and Project Leader at Chemistry Department (Physical Chemistry I) at Universität Duisburg-Essen, Essen, in the group of Prof. S. Schlücker.

My research interests are the technological development and applications of:

  1. Nonlinear Raman spectroscopy & microscopy techniques, namely CARS, SRS & RIKES.

  2. Coherent Raman optical activity (CROA) spectroscopy for rapid detection of chiral molecules, namely coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering-Raman optical activity (CARS-ROA).

  3. Ultraviolet resonance Raman (UVRR) spectroscopy.

I received my Ph.D. in Physics in 2012 from Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. I graduated with a Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in Laser Science & Applications in 2007 from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore (India), and a Master of Science (MS) in Physics in 2004 from Lucknow University, Lucknow (India).
